Do you have remedy for XYZ disease?
This is one of the most common questions encountered by ayurvedic doctors. Ayurveda works on fundamental elements and regularizes the imbalance in any pathology. This way it works in every possible health condition up to certain extent.
There are few advance conditions / stages of the disease that may not respond to ayurvedic medicines fully. However, a definite kind of relief can surely be seen in almost all conditions.
What is the process of Ayurveda Consultation in online format?
Prior to the Online Ayurvedic Consultation, few forms will be sent to you and you can fill up the forms and send them back to us. Mutually suitable time can be fixed and accordingly, a video-call over Google Meet or Skype for business can be scheduled. The link for the call will be sent from us. The first consultation roughly takes fifty minutes and follow-ups are usually of thirty minutes. Payments can be made by PayPal. The invoice will be sent to you.
How can you find the herbs internationally?
We have found few sources in form of herb distributors / resellers based in various parts of the world. There are few herbs / combinations that are available online as well. And thirdly, there are few companies that can send the ayurvedic formulations worldwide.
Can I take western medication along with ayurvedic medicines?
There are no specific known references of interactions between ayurvedic and allopathic / western medicine. In fact, the combination of these to modalities are working hand in hand under the name Integrative Medicine.
In case, any such interaction is suspected, that needs to be studied thoroughly by ayurveda and western medicine experts for the betterment of science.
How important are the dietary suggestions along with ayurvedic treatment?
Ayurveda understands the food items – veggies, grains, dairy on the same lines as the herbs. They are understood from a perspective that a particular vegetable will improve the agni / metabolism or dosha or dhatu etc and effectively work in re-establishing the equilibrium of the elements inside the body. Most common example is of coriander seeds. They have specific dynamics in them that helps in burning urination / UTI.
On the other hand, there are few dietary items that are known to create imbalance in body physiology restricting herbs to perform to their best. This makes it inevitable to keep such food items away from diet to achieve a faster betterment in health. Use of yogurt in swelling, cold, sinusitis, hyperacidity can be a good example.
What is the role of Panchakarma in ayurvedic treatment?
Panchakarma is part of Ayurvedic treatment where vitiated dosha (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) get eliminated out of the body with specific set of procedures done in a sequential manner. Panchakarma helps to improve the health status at a faster rate but may not be suitable for everyone.

Does ayurveda allow meat / non-veg eating?
Yes, Ayurveda does not have any restrictions on meat provided it is not interfering with the healing process.
Ayurveda enunciates its presence as a system of medicine that is spiritually oriented. Despite this, it looks at every aspect of life, food habits, lifestyle from a very objective and scientific manner. Moreover, there are books that describe the merits and demerits of various kinds of meats as well.
How important are the timings for the medicines / herbs intake?
Timings of medicine intake are specifically chosen as per the condition; the patient is suffering from. For diseases afflicting lower part of the body, herbs are recommended to be taken prior to the lunch and dinner. Time of the day corresponds to each dosha – Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
Can you get habitual of ayurvedic medicines?
Certainly NOT. Ayurveda and ayurvedic lifestyle including herbs can be part of lifestyle forever for the wellbeing of mind, body and soul. This in fact requires a good commitment.
What is Suvarna-Prashan Sanskar?
This is an excellent way of building immunity in infants, kids that makes their health stay on the right track. It is usually done on a specific constellation – Pushya Nakshatra for the excellent results. In this process Suvarna Bhasma in miniscule quantity, along with few other dietary products is administered to the infants and kids. This helps in prevention of common diseases of children and also builds strength in the tissues of the body. This prepares the body, mind, memory, intellect for all the future activities in life.
Can ayurveda herbs be given to young infants?
Yes of course. In many conditions, ayurvedic herbs are commonly used in minor as well as major conditions.
There are impressive results in the jaundice / hepatitis seen in infants with the help of ayurvedic herbs. Many times, the condition is already suspected / diagnosed as Biliary Atresia by their paediatricians.
Do modern investigations, blood work, X-rays, CT scans, MRI, USG etc. help in ayurvedic treatment?
Yes, up to certain extent they do. The diagnosis is completely done in ayurvedic way in terms of dosha, dhatu, mala and agni. However, these techniques help in assessment of the efficacy of the ayurvedic treatment.
Is Prakruti / Constitution the most important part of ayurveda that is used to decide diet, occupation, clothes etc?
Prakriti / Prakruti / Constitution is an excellent way to assess the physiological pattern of an individual so that one can have some general guidance towards lifestyle and diet. However, it is not a sole factor that is taken into consideration for planning a lifestyle. We certainly do not recommend specific Constitution wise foods, drinks, clothes. There are two main reasons for that –
- Most of the prakruti involve 2 dosha
- When you assess for prakruti, it is necessary to look beyond any pathology or any subclinical condition and that is possible with experts.
On what basis, a diet can be planned?
A diet is always planned as per the Agni (digestive capacity / metabolism). It keeps varying primarily with the season and health status. For the same reason, diet should always be planned as per the seasons / seasonal regimen. In disease conditions, the primary focus goes on your agni and the status of your doshas and then seasons. Prakriti, age, place of residence etc are also taken into consideration after that.
Is it necessary to inform my regular doctor / MD that I am taking ayurvedic medicines?
We strongly advise the patients to keep your Primary Physician / MD in the loop so that they are aware of reasons for the changes happen to your body.
